As for the academic side of things, stations were a success! But I couldn't have been successful without the help of parents coming in to help, so thank you! We worked on the letter Bb by making cotton ball bunnies. We also had a mini lesson about bats and made bat puppets. Students were shocked to learn that bats eat FRUIT instead of people :) Students did work with the sight word "see" and can now write "I see ..." in their journals! Expect to see huge leaps of sentence growth in the next few weeks. Library station was a hit and everything went smoothly.
Science this week was so fun! Studying the 5 senses is all about exploring. We made sound shakers, glasses to help us observe, smelled plants from our herb garden, and went on a rough/smooth hunt with Miss Johnson's class.
Finally, math games are in full swing. Students are obsessed with the card game WAR! (My Grandma's favorite) These games help students quickly recognize numbers/identify less then or greater than. This is a fun way to build up the number sense!
Last but not least, thank you to everyone that came to back to school night. I hope you enjoyed seeing your student's work and got all of your questions answered.
Looking forward to a great week 4-first day of computer lab on Monday!
All my love,
Miss George
