I also brought in my record player to continue our "Past and present" unit from the week before. The kids LOVED IT! We listed to some Nat King Cole and had all around great learning experience.
Our social studies unit focused on the First Thanksgiving story. We discussed the struggles of the pilgrims, and what they were thankful for during their first Thanksgiving. We then moved on to talk about what WE are thankful for. I have to say, this is the first year I didn't have a class full of "toys" or "presents" or material objects. Papers were full of people, food, shelter; the real things to be thankful for each day! What a great, understanding group of kiddos we have on our hands here!
Last but not least, we had INTERNATIONAL NIGHT! All of the crafting and books read leading up to this night made the experience itself enriching. Huge shout out to Miss Anna for decorating the classroom and holding down the fort during the day while I was in Charlottesville for a training day. Everything looked great!
Hoping everyone remembers all the little ones we have to be thankful for this holiday.
Love,
Miss George
