This past week in Language Arts, we hit name writing hard. We painted our names, built names with play-dough, and went on a name hunt around the classroom. We also did lots of plain old WRITING! We have been doing stations for 10 minutes each, as an intro to the independent academic stations that will come as students become more independent in the classroom. Stations went well!
Math was about comparing groups of numbers. Students can now count two groups of objects and tell which has more, which has less, and if they are the same.
We wrapped up our science unit by learning about taste and smell. While we didn't actually taste any foods (too many allergies!) we talked about the different things our tongues can taste. We explored our sense of smell by painting with kool-aid and using scented play-dough during our language arts stations.
Our park trip this week was wonderful! We found both golden acorns with the help of some rising 9th graders and rising 6th graders. PHSSA alum that wanted to help me out! They stayed with our class all day, and made some great connections with the students.
Looking forward to another great week!
All the K love!
